Ferrari 296 GT3 Race Car Revealed

Red Ferrari 296 GT3

Ferrari’s race cars and production cars have always been in intimate dialogue with one another, and the latest effort from the Prancing Horse’s Competizioni GT team is a case in point. The Ferrari 296 GT3 is an incredible development in the racing segment that has always been closest to the manufacturer’s heart.

This Ferrari race car’s design picks up where the 296 GTB leaves off—but the GT3 achieves a lower center of gravity with a unique 120-degree V6 configuration, which houses the turbochargers within the mid-rear-mounted V. The aluminum frame and braking system are likewise all-new. Although the 296 GT3 lacks the hybrid powertrain of its siblings, the 296 GTB and 296 GTS, it leaves nothing to be desired on the track.

Ferrari 296 GT3 Specs

With a potent V6 engine and 20% greater downforce compared to the 488 GT3—Ferrari’s last GT racer—the 296 GT3 is a force to be reckoned with. Check out key Ferrari 296 GT3 specs right here:

Designing the 269 GT3 Race Car: Built to Win

Speeding up track operations was one of the most important goals that the Competizioni GT team set for themselves while designing the 296 GT3. This design offers a significant advantage during races—but that’s not all. Since the GT3 is more modular than either the 296 GTB or the 296 GTS, it’s easier to customize and personalize.

296 GT3 owners who really want to get in touch with their Prancing Horse’s inner workings are welcome to contact Maranello. Ferrari will supply spare parts and on-track assistance, of course, but owners will also be able to consult with the GT3’s technicians and engineers directly. The result of this connection is an unparalleled connection between vehicle and driver—but we’re sure you’d expect nothing less from Ferrari.
